December to Remember

** Parents

Please know that we appreciate our cultural differences but do ask for your kind participation in our annual gift-giving incentive.  Each child will purchase or provide a gift for one of the other children, by Friday, December 21, 2012.

We will demonstrate the warmth of giving and love for humanity in conjunction with our individual beliefs. The names and information for your child's gift partner is included in their November, end-of-the-month package.

Thank you for your participation

DECEMBER THEMES

RHYME TIMES

Children love to play with words and what better way than with a rhyme? Rhyming is not only fun, it is an important pre-reading skill. This month we will meet some classic characters from the world of RHYME.

CELEBRATING THE SEASON

Bright lights, fun foods, singing songs and pretty packages ... December is an exciting time for preschoolers to celebrate family traditions from around the world.  There is even a gift project included!

Election Day!

Election Day at Little Archie's Clubhouse

Today we learned about the process of election in the United States of America. Our scholars celebrated the four year tenure of, who they affectionately called, "Rockabama" and asked questions about the incumbant, "Mitty".

We had an election for President of Little Archie's.  The winner would be President for the next 4 days! The candidates were determined by their ability to identify the most alphabet letters and numbers .... and the winners were:

Aaron Benjamin and Janasia Perrin

Each candidate shared what they would do to make Little Archie's a better place;

The children discussed their options and placed their ballots; "J" for Janasia and "A" for Aaron

Janasia's promise for more snacks and more play-time clinched the election for her and she became President of Little Archie's Clubhouse

Congratulations Janasia Perrin

Welcome November!

First, I'd like to express our heartfelt thoughts and well-wishes to all of those affected by Hurricane Sandy which devastated many homes, families and communities this week. As we prepare for recovery, please know that our prayers go out to you all.
Sincerely, Mr. & Mrs. Archie and Cynthia McInnis

WELCOME NOVEMBER 2012

THIS MONTH'S THEMES:

 USING MY SENSES

Preschoolers see, hear, taste, smell and touch the world around them everyday.  This month's theme makes science fun as they explore and recognize the importance of their senses and why we should be thankful for them.

GIVING THANKS

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year.  It is a time for pilgrims, turkeys, friends and family but more importantly, it is a time for giving thanks! What is your preschooler thankful for?

Community Helpers

Who are the important people in our community? This month's lesson will help your preschooler explore who aresome of the important people in our community and how they help us.

Plenty of Pumpkins

Big ones, fat ones, round ones! They come in all shapes and sizes but they all start out the same.  Explore how they grow from a little seed into one of ourfavorite Halloween decorations.

Shape: Rectangle                              Colors: Orange and Black

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

Help your toddler/preschooler take notice of Police Officers, Sanitation Workers, Crossing Guards, Construction Workers and Fire Fighters. Have general conversations with them about their importance and relevance in the community.

Allow your tastebuds to discover the power of pumpkin! Discover the many different uses of the pumpkin and share this information with your child.

Help is to bring emphasis to our letters, number, shape and colors of the month! Ex. "Tell Miss Nikki, Miss Cynthia or Miss Chelsea that 'H' says Hospital! Pumpkins are orange and rectangles have two longer sides and two shorter sides"

SAY CHEEEEEEEEZE!
PICTURE DAY - OCTOBER 31, 2012
